Getting past my cartastrophes

Marcel's dad in the car...
The chicks
I like to drive slowly. A clutch of nestlings has set up home inside the wheel arch of the back wheel. I hear them cheeping away - the sound gets louder when I go into tunnels…
Everyone overtakes my little car, which is full of charming bumps and dents. It’s straight out of an ode to a bygone era.
Mime show
Those who overtake me treat me to an amazing mime show featuring a whole range of whiners and complainers. It’s too funny for words (and cheaper than going to the movies!).
Car chats
I like talking to God at the wheel. Recently, I don’t know why, but it seems like conversation has dried up a little (?), I must have lost my words along the way somewhere…(or else there’s something wrong with me…)..
His spectacle
The multiple colors of a forest in the fall are a silent, but powerful spectacle to behold. The wet road reflects the sky in all its dazzling brilliance.
Certain images speak as loudly as words and this one is telling me… well, it’s telling met… umm…
What? My wheel is passing me on the inside
All of a sudden, the nestlings have gone quiet… (? BANG! The car veers across the road, the wheel’s come off!!! (Incredible, I thought it was the nestlings making that sound!). The errant wheel describes a figure of eight and the car shakes even more than usual!
(Yes, it can be done!)
I’m not sure I’ll make it home tonight… I’ll have to go even slower (Yes, that can be done too!)
Maybe God wants to tell me something about Himself through the beauty of the moonlight….
