With a top prize of 1000€ for the best spot, the Phos Festival seeks to stimulate the creativity of amateurs and professionals alike.

Contestants may submit their works between February 15 and April 15, 2016.

“In a society that has increasingly moved away from Christian values, where moral darkness pervades audio-visual media and channels, believers have the privilege and responsibility to shine, reflecting the light of Jesus Christ who said, ‘I am the light of the world’ (John 8:12)”, organisers say.

“Social media places opportunities into our hands every day to be ‘be light’ to millions of people, simply by sharing a video that can open their eyes. However, the videos need to be short, creative, clear and powerful.”

This very need stirred up the birth of the Phos Festival.  It is a contest on the Internet in which video spots are created to communicate the message of Jesus Christ and Judeo-Christian values.

“Aims are to promote audiovisual creativity and to create a video library which will be useful to share the Gospel.  Additionally, it seeks to offer a platform where creative Christians can post/publish their productions.”

VIDEOS CAN BE IN SPANISH OR ENGLISH

As a new feature in this edition,  spots may be submitted in either Spanish or English. The winners will be chosen by the jury among the top 50 spots that received most votes on the official Festival Facebook page. But the public prize and the special mention of the jury will be chosen among all the videos.

The jury is composed of Unai Arretxe (Tiempo para Euskalerría-ETV), Dani Díez (Solidaria TV), Francisco Echevarría (Pan del Cielo - CanalSur), Jaime Fernández (Nacer Do Novo, TVG), Esteban Lozano, Beni Moreno y José Pablo Sánchez (Buenas Noticias TV-TVE), Roland Walter (Comunicando Vida), Pedro Tarquis (Evangelical Focus), Adolfo Rivero (Avero Produciones), Kary Eldred (Living Stone) y Willy López (Casa de Bendición).

They will evaluate the technical quality, creativity and content.

The awards will be announced via Internet on May 30th.

Rules to take part in the contest as well as winning submissions from the past edition may be found on the Festival website.
