A conference for French-speaking Christian women gathered over 1,700 participants.

Entr’Elles held its first large event after the Covid-19 pandemic, in what Florence Cultier, spokesperson of the organisation, said it was “a step of faith”, according to French news website Engaliques.info.

The gathering was possible thanks to the 25 Christians organisations and dozens of other partners.

A large number of young people took part in the gathering held in Clermont-Ferrand (France) which is not only open for women from France but also those coming from Belgium and Switzerland.

The theme was Existe(based on Psalm 33:9: “For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm”). Speakers were Stéphanie Reader, Andi Andrew et Maria Durso.

At the exhibitors zone, were the organisations shared their work, “synergies took place between partners who were sometimes meeting for the first time”, the organisers said.

The explosion of online initiatives after the pandemic often leads to younger Christians to attend in-person gatherings with lower frequence than before. This is why, ahead of the conference, intentional efforts on social media were carried out to encourage young women to travel to the central French city.

The next edition of Entr’Elles is planned for 2024. Despite the success of this edition, Cultier said changes in the “formula” of the event were always on the table to improve the gathering.
