Immoral and outdated? The message of sin and the Cross for the new generations
German theologian and communicator Julia Garschagen leads a free 3-hour master class on the subject.
08 APRIL 2024 · 12:57 CET
An online master class led by German theologian and evangelist Julia Garschagen is offered for free on 13 April 2024, Saturday afternoon.
“The message of the cross is at the core of Christian belief. However, for most people today, the atonement is not necessarily good news but rather morally questionable”, say the organisers of the event, the European Leadership Forum (ELF).
Some of the questions addressed during the 3-hour master class will be: “Why does God need blood and violence in order to forgive? How does atonement work? If I am a good person, why do I need the cross? How can what happened 2,000 years ago be relevant for me today?”
The webinar (from 3pm to 6:30pm, London time) will include sessions such as: “How to Explain the Concept of Sin to a Postmodern Culture” or “How to Communicate the Idea of Original Sin and God’s Wrath”.
The online master class will also offer practical ideas on how to communicate the message of sin and the cross in different ministry contexts.
