Go(o)d bye, my friend

The whys and wherefores don’t matter, I just need God

,

I walked out into the countryside. From a distance, I could clearly hear the rumble of the town, but here, I’m in a place of unspoilt quiet. Paradoxically, birdsong and the noise of insects takes on an almost human aspect which I find reassuring.
This morning, my wife told me about a friend who had just died (Jimmy, our old drummer)…
Why?
I came across an old tree, which stretched protective arms towards me, just as my Creator does. The whys and wherefores don’t matter, I just need God…I place my trust in Him. He uses the sunshine to recharge my batteries. My eyes try to take in the immensity of the sky above me – there’s definitely enough room there for my friend (he was always quite reserved, he kept a low profile).
Tenderness for you
The natural world is full of thorns…understandably so, it does its best to defend itself, humanity has stolen so much land from it…however, far from bearing grudges, it offers me lots of berries. I even found a wild plum, groaning with fruit!!!
It took these tears for me to realize how much I cared for this friend…I should have shown him this while he was still alive…
I will try to do better with those still left to me, and with you if I should get the chance to meet you...
