KRISS AKABUSI has spoken of the importance of sharing God's word with everyone. He himself was converted through a Bible he found in his hotel room when taking part in the Edinburgh Commonwealth Games.

Kriss is not primarily a preacher, but an athlete - and what an athlete! Silver medallist in the 4 x 400 metres in the Los Angeles Olympics, gold medallist in the 4 x 400 metres in the 1986 and 1990 European games, champion of the United Kingdom in the 400 metres (1984), etc.

It's impossible to exaggerate the importance of giving God's word to others. It's the best we've got. If I could choose one thing to teach another person, I would surely give them a Bible.

It's far better than a hundred explanations, sermons, good books, tracts, etc. All of that is fine, but it doesn't have the power of the Bible, for the simple reason that the Bible is the Word of God.

Here's another little challenge: read Psalm 119 and - wait, wait, calm down - I know it's the longest chapter in the Bible, but it's worth reading! As I was saying, read Psalm 119 and write down everything that God's word means to us.

Please, take the time to do this. Pray and thank God that you own a Bible; millions of people throughout the world aren't so fortunate. Many others are persecuted and even killed for having a Bible.

As I said, Psalm 119 explains many things about the Bible, among them:

1. Happy is the man (or woman!) who keeps God's word.
2. God's word helps us to avoid sin.
3. God speaks to each one personally through the Bible.

This Psalm shows us more than 50 characteristics of God's word. Go ahead, look them up!

Don't keep this treasure all to yourself; share your very best. Share the Bible; you can help many people, by doing them the favour of a lifetime.
