Richard Carhart earned a Ph.D. in theoretical particle physics from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He is Professor of Physics Emeritus at the University of Illinois at Chicago, having taught there and done research for 35 years. He has also been a lay theologian and Bible teacher for the last 50 years, and has lectured on the relationship between science and Christian faith in Armenia, Czech Republic, Belarus, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Ukraine, the UK, and the USA. Richard served as an academic missionary for a year at the University of Nairobi, and for a year on a joint appointment at Charles University and at the Czech Academy of Sciences (Ústav fyziky atmosféry), both in Prague, Czech Republic. During 2002 thru 2008 he served as the Founder of the European Scientists Network at the annual European Leadership Forum.
