Closed door?
Whatever your fears are (timidity, challenges, etc.), here’s a piece of advice: if Jesus asks you to walk on water, don’t think about it too much, just do it…

If God wants me to do this or that, He only has to open a door for me !
This sentence often leaves me sceptical… (I’m not talking septic tanks here*) because with me that’s not the way things go!
It’s more like the automatic door of a supermarket: it only opens when I take a step of faith!
I admit: I am always a bit worried that the door will hit me smack in the face (daft, eh?)!
All around us, there are lots of things that never happen, because the customers wait outside the door instead of going in!
An example of that (today): Phil (who helps me with the accounts) tells me: ‘We don’t have any more copies of the comic book Conventional Wisdom in the small format! What shall we do !? Are you going to draw them again by hand, or shall we print them?’
Me:‘Er… we’ll print (I don’t have that much time at the moment...)!
That’s how we made the decision to reprint 10,000 copies of it, without even a single penny towards it, just with the faith that God will provide....This has been a recurrent situation at the studio, from the start (19 years now).
And even if help takes its time to arrive (sometimes a close call), with its hands in its (full) pockets, it has never defaulted.
We protect ourselves with the armour of faith but, still, anxiety has a habit of knocking at the door.
(oh... leluia!) When all’s said and done, worry is nothing but a lack of faith...
The supermarket door is see-through. Beyond it, I can see people who are going to be touched, a society that is going to change, a Lord who is powerful, and victories!
So, whatever your fears are (timidity, challenges, etc.), here’s a piece of advice: if Jesus asks you to walk on water, don’t think about it too much, just do it…
