Nadia López is a Mexican singer-songwriter who became famous in the reality show The Academy.
Afterwards, her music reached gold and platinum records, she was nominated for Grammy awards and received international recognition.
More than a year ago, the artist premiered on her social media the video Él te ama (He loves you), of Christian content, which she described as the beginning of a new story in her music.
López had already published songs about faith, however, this video was special because it was part of the spiritual change that the artist has experienced since her conversion, after a progressive encounter with Jesus, she explains.
After this release, she has taken part in international Christian congresses, youth events, churches. Nadia has later released new songs such as The Messiah.
Gradual approach
Lopez thinks that she began to truly know Jesus when her family sought more of Him.
“One of the things that struck me was to see the change in my brother, who was a party-goer, and now he is a pastor. Before my transformation, I accompanied him and other family members to church”, the artist told Vive Mas TV.
According to López, her approach to God was gradual. “It took about two years in which I listened to the word of God and attended church meetings, and one day I suddenly had a conviction of sin and knew that I wasn't doing things the way God wanted me to”.
Despite that revelation, the singer explained that she continued to do things her own way until she “crashed” in her personal life, and realised that without Jesus she was truly lost: “It was in that situation that I came to know the love of Jesus Christ, when I cried out to Him and He answered me”.
Inspiring and encouraging others
In that interview, Lopez also confessed that she prays constantly that God will continue to perfect the work that He began in her and that she will be His faithful representative to inspire and encourage others.
In addition to making musical presentations at different Christian events, the singer is also a moderator on the television show Live More, a digital media that offers valuable content through interviews, documentaries, sketches and capsules.
