The situation of the Christians in Africa and Asia is getting worse everyday due to the Islamic fundamentalists groups’ radicalization.
Because of that, the Spanish Evangelical Alliance (AEE) has published a statement, regretting the “laxity of the European governments and institutions”, which are “cowardly insensitive and silent to the Christian genocide.”
“SUPPORT THEM PHYSICALLY AND POLITICALLY”
The AEE has shown its “indignation”, and asked for the solidarity of those who defend the human rights, against the massive displacements, the destruction of historical heritage, etc.
They have expressed their proud for “our brothers, our heroes, who remain faithful, they might lose their lives, but they will never lose their dignity.”
“They are an example, not only of a real faith, but also of the strength we need to face terror”, the document added.
The evangelical institution believed that “it is our responsibility to support them physically and politically”. They also blamed the mass media for its silence, and were aware of “all the economic interests which sustain the Islamic fundamentalists, so that, just as with child abuse, sexual slavery, or arms trafficking, it is a priority to detect those organised terrorist mafias and act against them.”
MUSLIM LEADERS NEED TO BREAK THEIR SILENCE
The AEE questioned Western’s idea about Islam: “Islamic terrorism has nothing to do with the Islam, although it is true that Daesh, Boko Haram, Al Qaeda, etc. identified Christians as the enemy to kill”, they explained in the statement.
That made them wonders about Islam’s role in the justification of the fundamentalism: are there Islamic values that support Daesh initiatives? Does Islam support the submission and killing of those who are not Muslims? Does Koran have an ambivalent message about this?” they asked.
“If the Koran condemns this behaviour, it has to explain it and proclaim it publicly from the mosques, mass media, schools, etc, to discredit them”, the Alliance said.
SILENCE OF THE GOOD
“What it really worries us, it is the silence of the good, when a community is against the violence, it does not tolerate it in its name and denounces it”, they lamented.
Additionally, they demanded a “clear declaration of the Muslims who live among us, in favour of the democratic system which respects freedom and differences, asking the Islamic governments to respect Christians.”
“MANY MUSLIMS HAVE ALSO BEEN VICTIMS”
The Alliance also recognised that “many Muslims have also been victims of Daesh”, and believed that the terrorists “will be defeated, not by the arms, but by exposing the weakness of their faith: a weak god that needs his followers to kill its enemies.”
As the persecuted Christians said to Daesh in a video: “you kill for your god, our God died for us”. He is everybody’s God, He died for Daesh’s followers too”, the statement concluded.
