Evangélico Digital, a new Latin American news and opinion website member of the Areópago Protestante media group (which includes Evangelical Focus), will be launched in the next few weeks.
The project was officially introduced to a Latin American audience during the II Ibero-American Congress for Life and Family (Mexico, February 2018). There, a group of evangelical leaders joined to support the project, expressing “the call of God to be salt and light in the Ibero-American context, which is emerging with multiple potentialities”.
The new medium, published in Spanish, will give evangelical perspectives on the Latin American social issues.
EVANGELICAL AND INDEPENDENT NEWS WEBSITE
Evangélico Digital will seek to be a tool at the service of the Latin American evangelical people; as a means of opinion, expression and information, supporting the role in society of these churches.
Evangélico Digital is not linked to any specific evangelical entity or institution, but rather it arises as a professional and global project. Financially, it depends on the donations destined to its start-up, with the aim of being able to self-finance soon.
TO AND FROM LATIN AMERICA
Its Reference Committee is made up of four well-known Latin American leaders (Aarón Lara, Aarón Cortés, Roberto Tinoco and Julio César Meléndez), along with three representatives (Xesús Manuel Suárez, Marcos Zapata and Pedro Tarquis) of Areopago Protestante, a media group linked to the Spanish Evangelical Alliance.
Its Director will be a well-known Costa Rican journalist, Javier Bolaños, who will work in close coordination with General Director, Pedro Tarquis). Bolaños has been working in communications for more than 20 years, leading several media projects, including television newscasts.
Evangélico Digital will work closely with the Spanish and European news websites Protestante Digital and Evangelical Focus.
RESPONSIVE AND EASY-TO READ DESIGN
The Evangélico Digital is in its last phase of development, carried out by the specialised webmastering company Aplyss, and the graphic designer Marina Acuña.
The new website will be responsive and will automatically adapt to any type of devices, with a faster loading time and a lower data consumption.
The new design of the home page, type and size of letter, choice of sections, etc., have been designed to facilitate the reading of both headlines and the body of news.
LOGO
The logo of Evangélico Digital has bright and warm colors, in the style of Latin polychromy, and represents the union of different countries, denominations, peoples and cultures in a common effort of communication, coming together at a central point.
“Reporting, thinking and building, beyond the superfice: the flat hexagon is also a 3D cube”, the designers explained.
