The Fraternity of Evangelical Churches of the Spanish city of Jerez de la Frontera celebrated a new edition of the 'Evangelical Christmas'.
It was held in the Villamarta theatre, a space provided by the Jerez City Council.
This is the ninth time that the local evangelical churches gathered to celebrate this special Christmas event together.
Nearly a thousand people attended the ninth edition. Among them, according to the organisers, were local authorities, as well as representatives of churches from neighbouring municipalities, friends and family members.
“To have Christ as our Saviour”
The event was presided by the pastor Juan Antonio Moreno, and included the participation of the Torre Fuerte (Strong Tower) church choir, who led the worship time.
Segundo Navaza, founder of the Buenas Noticias (good news) church movement, was invited to preach, and presented a Christ-centred message, reflecting on “the need for human beings to have Christ as our Saviour”.
The celebration was led by Antonio Bonilla, the coordinator of the Fraternity, who recognised the pastoral work of the local churches over the last few years and the commitment to social action of several communities in the city.
He also expressed his gratitude for the recent inauguration of the evangelical chaplaincy in the Jerez de la Frontera hospital.
