Premises of the Christian organisation Juifs pour Jésus in Paris were targeted with an antisemitic graffiti, the National Council of Evangelicals in France has denounced in a statement.
“We are shocked to discover this anti-Semitic attack on the Juifs pour Jésus association, which is a member of the CNEF”, the body representing over 700,000 evangelical Christians said.
“This hateful caricature and this material damage are a violent aggression for us and particularly for the whole team of Jews for Jesus”.
A complaint was filed with the police on Tuesday morning.
Juifs pour Jésus works among Messianic Jews (Jews who acknowledge Jesus Christ as the Messiah) and is connected to the global movement Jews For Jesus.
Evangelical Christians in France have repeatedly denounced antisemitic actions in France and expressed the need for the “French authorities to take action on this matter”.
After the incident in Paris, the CNEF said it is “renewing this alert and inviting Christians to pray to fight against this climate of hatred, which can still be observed today in France”.
“Let us also pray for the Juifs pour Jésus team and for the Jews in France”, they concluded.
