Over 5,500, including 350 volunteers, participated in the 3rd edition of the Jesus Festival held in the French town of Paray-le-Monial from 5 to 7 July.

The Christian music event continues to grow, having welcomed 3,800 participants in 2022 and 5,200 in 2023.

The organisers believe that they “could have welcomed more people this year”, but “with the Olympic Games and the general election, the number of participants was not as high as we hoped. But we can be satisfied that the challenge of accommodation was met”.

“In future years, if we want to continue to grow, we can really afford it”, said Manu, a founding member of the festival.

The event was broadcast live on YouTube and Facebook, with replays available after each day.

Music and art

From worship to gospel, rap to electro, all musical styles were featured by over twenty international and French-speaking artists artists, including Glorious and Dan Luiten, Mirella, MLK Worship, Hopen, Dévotion, Noah Mungongo, Sandra Kouame, and the Australian group PlanetShakers.

Furthermore, as in 2023, the 'basilica' stage, located on the other side of the Bourbince river within walking distance, featured many artists including Vinz le Mariachi and Céaile.

The 'chill' stage, located a little further away, was open to young artists and shows, including one by artist Alain Auderset inspired by his book 'The Legend of Mi'.

In addition to the concerts, there were shows for children, creative master classes, as well as games lounges and meetings with the artists.

The Big Church festival

The Jesus Festival project was born of a dream shared by several Christian friends in 2017, to "bring thousands of Christians together through music and worship", inspired by the Big Church Festival in England.

For 2025, the organisers are planning to share artists with the Big Church. The two organisations have decided to set the same date to make it easier for artists to travel to both festivals. The Jesus Festival and Big Church will therefore be held on 22, 23 and 24 August next year.
