The initiative España Oramos por Ti (in English: ‘Spain, We Pray For You’) held a new national day of prayer on 13 June, mobilising thousands of evangelical Christians in locations across the country.
According to the organisers, 45 simultaneous gatherings took place throughout Spain, making it one of the largest expressions of prayer within the evangelical community in Spain in recent times.

Both in public spaces (squares and streets) and in places of worship and churches, the gatherings adapted to the specific possibilities of each municipality. Under the theme “Thy will be done” (Matthew 6:10), participants raised prayers for the nation, the authorities, families and several areas of social life.
The day was marked by times of worship, Bible reading and specific intercession for issues such as young people, religious freedom, social welfare, education, the economy and the country’s spiritual challenges.
Believers from different generations, backgrounds and denominations took part.
A national movement
The organisers have given a positive assessment of the day, noting that they have observed greater involvement from churches compared to previous years. “We continue to see how the Church is responding to the call to seek God together and pray for the present and future of the nation”, they stated in a press release.
Those in charge of the initiative point out that, since its inception, one of its aims has been to foster unity amongst believers and strengthen their commitment to the Christian mission.
Media coverage
The organisers also highlight the coverage received in various media outlets, which reported on the day’s events. España Oramos Por Ti believes that this coverage helps to highlight the commitment of thousands of believers to praying for the country and projects a public image associated with values such as unity, service and collaboration between churches.
The event was widely shared on social media, where participants and organisers posted photographs and videos of the various gatherings held throughout the country.
