From October 7 to 10, a third regional evangelism conference brought together 140 participants from 20 countries in Sarajevo, mainly from the Balkans and Eastern Europe.

The aim of “The Harvest Is Plentiful” was uniting around a shared desire for spiritual encouragement and practical preparation for evangelism. Organisers were the Association “Good News” in Bosnia and Herzegovina), EUS Serbia (the national IFES students movement), and the evangelistic movement FEUER Balkan.

Slavko Hadžić (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Samuil Petrovski (Serbia), Lindsay Brown (Wales), Andy Mayo (England), Zefjan Nikolla (Albania), and Michael Ots (England) led the plenary sessions during the gathering.

Networks and practical workshops

In addition to the plenary sessions, the program included three thematic networks: FEUER (student evangelism), the Muslim evangelism network, and the general evangelism network. Networks provided participants with opportunities to deepen their understanding of evangelism and exchange experiences from the different contexts in which they serve.

Workshops addressed a rannge of topics related to evangelism.

In the time for workshops, a variety of approaches and practical ideas for sharing the Gospel were presented, on topics such as “discovering your personal evangelism style”, apologetics, reaching Muslims with the Gospel, evangelism through small groups, gardening and the Gospel, and reaching conspiracy theorists with the Gospel.

Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive. One participant noted that the material presented in the sessions and workshops was “thought-provoking and useful even for those who have been regularly involved in evangelism for a long time”.

Another participants wrote: “I am used to looking at things rationally, but at this conference I gained a huge number of new ideas. I learned to look at people differently, understand them better, and recognize different opportunities for sharing the Gospel.”

Giving to an evangelistic mission

As in the previous year, when a voluntary offering was collected to support an evangelism week in Skopje, held in March, participants once again contributed to a specific evangelistic mission. The donation will support a team led by Samuil Petrovski and Slavko Hadžić, which plans to visit Split, Croatia, in spring 2027.

The “The Harvest Is Plentiful…” conference served as a reminder that evangelism is not merely a topic of discussion, but a call to action.

New insights and meaningful connections

“Encouraged by new insights, meaningful connections, and a shared vision, participants are returning to their communities with fresh ideas and a renewed desire to bring the Gospel to the people around them”, said the organizers.

“The fruit of the conference will therefore be measured not only by what took place in Sarajevo, but also by what continues to happen in churches and communities throughout the region”.
