“In our society, the name of Jesus has become a tabu”, the promoters of the ‘Jesus ist…’ (English: Jesus is…) initiative believe.

This is why they have bought about 1,500 advertising spaces in the streets of the German-speaking Switzerland to ask fellow citizens what they think about the “man who has influenced our society more than any other person.”

The adverts leave a big space for passersby to leave their comments and opinions.

“Our calendar is full of Christian dates, and the social system in Europe is based on Christian values. Many have heard about Jesus, but only a few know Him”, the video promoting the initiative explains.

Christians behind the initiative hope that people would openly “share their views about Jesus, and this will lead to conversations.”

Meanwhile, several secular media have reported on the campaign.
