Several 16 year-old girls were being sexually exploited by an organisation that operated in Malaga, Spain. The police have detained 11 people as presumed guilty of corruption of minors, prostitution and belonging to a criminal organisation.

The victims were captured by the organisation, without their parents´ knowledge of the exploitation they were suffering. The leader of the gang had photos of the girls naked on his mobile phone, and he showed them to his clients, so that they could choose the girl they wanted, and brought her to their house to exploit them.

The operation started last February and, after a lot of investigation, the police discovered the place were the girls were exploited, and identified the members of the organisation, who have different roles: watching the house, so that the police will not enter, and taking the girls to the clients’ houses.

Once they had enough evidence of the crimes, the police entered and searched the place where the girls were allegedly exploited. They found a girl hidden under a bed, and realised the horrible hygienic conditions of the place.

Additionally, they detained 11 people, between 35 and 75 years old.

MINORS Á LA CARTE

The investigators have confirmed that the leader of the gang had the photos of the girls in his mobile phone. Once the clients chose the girl they wanted, he negotiated the price, usually between 30 and 40 Euros, and a member of the organization took the girl to the client’s house and brought her back to her house, without their parents’ knowledge.

CAMPAIGN AGAINST SEXUAL SLAVERY

The Spanish National Police has started up a big campaign in mass media and social media against human trafficking and sexual slavery. Under the motto: “There is no trade with the human trade, denounce it!”, the police have reinforced a campaign they began last January.

They will put videos and posters in newspapers, radios, and televisions, to make the citizens and specially the potential clients, aware of the crimes committed by the groups that used women and girls for sexual slavery.
