On 31 October the Spanish region of Andalusia will celebrate the ‘Day of the Bible’.

For the Evangelical Council of Andalusia (CEAA.) it is “a recognition that fulfils one of the main demands of the evangelical community” in the region.

The decision is part of the signature with which the evangelical entity and the regional government have extended the General Protocol of Action, in a ceremony that took place at the San Telmo Palace (headquarters of the regional government) and was attended by the regional minister of the Presidency, Antonio Sanz, and the president of the CEAA., José Manuel Marín.

“The Andalusian evangelical Christian community will commemorate the nailing of Martin Luther's 95 theses in the castle church of Wittenberg, to celebrate the message of God and the good news of the gospel, a message of hope and joy for the human being”, stated the CEAA.

Focus on social issues

The new extension of the agreement was signed for another two years and the Evangelical Council emphasised its focus on “reinforcing its social purpose”.

This is why the evangelical organisation announced the promotion of “actions for the protection of minors through foster care”.

The Evangelical Council has also pledged to promote “participation in the spreading and raising awareness among the evangelical community of the family program developed in the centres for the protection of minors”.
