Is it possible to convey the message of the gospel in just five minutes, without any spoken words? The team behind the short film The Life believes so.
Using a first-person perspective, the evangelistic short film from Switzerland “takes viewers on a powerful journey, from birth and love, through conflict, to a life-changing decision”, explain the creators.
The life “invites viewers to question their own lives and leaves them with a question that they can only answer for themselves”.

“The first-person perspective deeply moved me and made me reflect, you really feel like you are going through these events yourself”, said one premiere attendee.

Internationally awarded
Produced by the Swiss Christian NGO, THE FOUR, the film has already been awarded 24 international film prizes, including in Austria, the USA, India, and Australia, and has won the Jesus Cine Fest, the Mokkho International Film Festival, and reached the finals of the Golden Short Film Festival.
The project was started by a small team of young creatives from THE FOUR, who had no prior filmmaking experience, but they brought their vision to life with director and creative art director, Timo Stump.
The life was supported and funded by the Jesus Film Project, the organization behind the world-famous Jesus Film of 1979.

No words
“Without words, the film delivers the central message of the gospel in a gripping, emotional way that transcends language and culture”, points out The life team.
The fact that it contains no dialogue “allows the film to be shared worldwide, and makes it particularly suitable for digital evangelism, social media, and international mission work”, they add.
Within the first month of release, The Life was viewed over 100,000 times and is now being shared globally via websites, social media, and apps.
“This is a dream come true. Our prayer is that people around the world will experience the message of Jesus in a new way, and we are excited to see what God will do through this film”, says Manuel Leiser, head of THE FOUR.
