Despite the lack of statistics on religious beliefs in the country, evangelical growth can be seen in Spain through the progressive increase in places of worship.
This increase is evident in the statistics provided by the Observatory of Religious Pluralism, a project of the Pluralism and Coexistence Foundation, which has been updating the number of places of worship for religious minorities for almost two decades.

Over a thousand evangelical places of worship in Catalonia
The evangelical faith is the most deeply rooted among minority religions, with over 4,700 (4,763) places of worship in 2025
Catalonia leads the regional ranking with 1,010 places of worship, followed by Madrid (855), Andalusia (744), and the Valencian Community (510).

The Observatory reports that, in general, places of worship for religious minorities are increasing in Spain. While Catholic places of worship continue to be the clear majority (22,922), evangelical spaces are approaching 5,000 and Muslim spaces are approaching 2,000.
Greater religious plurality
The Pluralism and Coexistence Foundation also recently published the Barometer on Religion and Beliefs in Spain (BREC 2025), a study that outlines the profound changes taking place in Spain's religious landscape.
The report reveals that 42% of the population does not identify with any religion, either because they are indifferent (17%), agnostic (14%) or atheist (11%). Among those who do define themselves as religious, Catholicism remains the majority (46%), while 8% belong to other denominations.
In addition to the advance of secularisation, there has been a rise in religious minorities in an increasingly pluralistic religious landscape, although statistics from the Centre for Sociological Research (CIS) monthly barometer show a stabilisation in beliefs over the last year, with few significant variations.
