Amy Donovan is lecturer in Geography and Environmental Hazards at King’s College London. Though she originally read English at Emmanuel College Cambridge, she went on to do a PhD in volcanology and now studies the use of science in decision-making on active volcanoes for disaster risk reduction, and the role of culture in mediating risk.
