"We want to create a space where apologetics is not just an intellectual defence, but a tool for communicating the gospel with humility, clarity, and commitment", say the organisers.
The programme includes plenary sessions, Bible studies, round tables and specialised workshops led by evangelical pastor and well-known singer Marcos Vidal, missiologist Zaza Lima, author Harry Bryans, evangelist Andy Wickham, and musician and social media influencer Denis Suárez, among others.
The keynote speaker will be Peter J. Williams, PhD of the University of Cambridge, and one of the most respected academic voices in the defence of biblical historicity. He is the Principal of Tyndale House in Cambridge, and is known for his Bible expositions, which combine erudition with a fine sense of humour.
In an interview with Protestante Digital, Williams spoke about some of the key points he will address in Madrid.

Question. You have spent many years in academia. Where do you think Christian apologetics stands today in relation to contemporary challenges from philosophy, science, and modern worldviews?
Answer. I think that the area where we are doing best is in philosophy. Many Christians have been trained to spot and point out the presuppositions which non-Christians bring to conversations.
Many also have learned how to do something like a “philosophical judo throw”, where we use the assumptions brought to a question and point out how those assumptions actually point to something in Christianity.
In science, there are obviously many Christian scientists, but there are still ongoing tensions surrounding the supernatural claims of the Bible.
My own approach is historical-biblical apologetics, because that’s what I know most about. I think that on the whole we are doing well in the area of the New Testament and its reliability, but we are currently much weaker in the Old Testament.
Q. The conference theme points to the exclusivity of the Christian answer, which can be a difficult concept in a pluralistic world. What key ideas do you hope to emphasize in your presentation?
A. I want to highlight how unique Jesus is. I think that this is demonstrable.
We have all met many people and we have never met anyone else like Jesus and there is no one in history like him.
I will emphasize the uniqueness of his teaching and the way that also aligns with his life, death and resurrection. He is the best storyteller ever, but also the main character in the best ever story.
Q. How can Christians maintain a balance between being respectful toward other beliefs while remaining faithful to the ‘uncomfortable’ truths of the gospel?
A. I do not think we should necessarily be respectful towards other beliefs, but we should respect the ‘belief carriers’, that is, the people in the image of God who have those beliefs.
We respect them as image-bearers and we love them for Christ’s sake. We can also recognize what they have right.
Paul could quote a pagan poet, and so that we do not need to suggest that everyone has got everything wrong. But we do need to point out the absolute uniqueness of Christ and that he is ‘Lord’, that is master, king, boss, and CEO of everything.
