The defender of Racing Club of Argentina, Marco Di Cesare, praised God after recently winning the final of the Sudamericana Cup against Cruzeiro of Brazil by 3-1.
The footballer was one of the key players for la Academia (the Academy, as Racing is popularly known) to win the continental title.
After the victory, Di Cesare posted on his social media “We praise you Lord” and a picture of him wearing a T-shirt that reads: “In Christ I am more than a conqueror. Romans 8:37”.
Di Cesare was interviewed by many journalists after the match and pointed out that before every game, he reads Bible verses, and in the final, he looked up Psalm 23.
“Those are words that touch your heart and in some moments of life give you encouragement to continue, so I think that today, in the difficult moments, he was there, in the easy moments too... we have to thank Him”.
With his Bible under his arm, Di Cesare also commented that when he reads the Scriptures, “God gives me strength, He gives me encouragement and peace”.
